MTS Magnet Tool assembled on the bench at Machine Tech Services — a caged magnet section between machined subs, built for downhole debris recovery
Magnet Tool · Downhole Tools

Overview

The MTS Magnet Tool recovers ferrous debris from the wellbore. Its magnet carriers sit in a caged section between machined subs, so fluid passing through is carried into eddies that hold particles against the magnets rather than washing them past. It strips down to individual components for cleaning and rebuild between runs. Designed and built by Machine Tech Services in Broussard, Louisiana; run under the name of Wellhead Recovery Systems, a sister company.

Applications

  • Downhole debris recovery
  • Wellbore clean-out

Features

  • Caged magnet carriers with fluid eddies for particle retention
