Concentricity controls how closely the centre axis of one feature matches the centre axis of another.
In practice
On a shaft turned with several diameters, concentricity says those diameters must share an axis. It is a demanding control to verify properly, which is why many drawings use runout instead when runout would do the job.
Why it matters
Poor concentricity in a rotating part shows up as vibration and uneven wear. It is usually caused by the part being re-gripped between operations rather than by the cutting itself.
