Pins are the cheapest thing in the assembly and the thing that shears. When the replacement is not available, or the original kept failing, a made-to-spec pin in a better material solves both problems.

We turn pins, cut retaining features and cross-holes, and coordinate heat treatment where hardness matters.

Loc pin and loc screw assemblies are among the oilfield components we produce.

FAQ

Pins & Retainers — Questions We Get

Our pins keep shearing. Can you make a stronger one?

Often yes. If the pin is failing repeatedly, the material or heat treatment is usually the place to look before the geometry. Tell us the load and how it fails and we can discuss an appropriate material — but note that changing a shear pin can shift the failure elsewhere, so it is worth thinking through together.
